2026 DEACON
NOMINATIONS
Thank you for prayerfully nominating men to serve as deacons of our church. Our deacon team faithfully serves our homebound and other needs of our church.
DEACON NOMINATIONS will begin on September 27th through October 4th
Congregational Election of Deacons will take place on Sunday, October 25th
DEACON QUALIFICATIONS
- A deacon must be a man who meets the Scriptural qualifications as found in Acts 6:3-8 and 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
- A deacon shall affirm Article 4, Statement of Faith of the Ooltewah Baptist Constitution.
- A deacon must have been a Christian for at least 5 years, an active member of the Ooltewah Baptist Church for at least 2 years, and at least 25 years of age.
- If married, the deacon’s wife must be an active member of Ooltewah Baptist Church. These qualifications must be met by the date the deacon would begin serving.
- A deacon must regularly attend church unless hindered by circumstances beyond his control.
- A deacon shall be faithful to the vision and mission of the church. A deacon must be a tither.
