A YEAR OF PRAYER IN 2026

TWENTY-SIX

TWENTY-SIX

Beginning on February 1st, we invite you to join us in twenty-six days of prayer. The goal of the twenty-six days of prayer is to align our church family in prayer. When the church unites in prayer, we follow the example and pattern of the early church.

Andrew Murray stated, “Though in its beginnings prayer is so simple that the feeblest child can pray, yet it is at the same time the highest and holiest work to which man can rise.”

This guide is formatted with twenty-six Scriptures, one for each day. Prayer prompts have been
provided to guide your prayer. Also, you will notice that we will pray Psalm 85:6 for twenty-six days:
“Will you not revive us again so that your people may rejoice in you?” Just think of the impact of every person in our church praying for revival—26 times! There is power when we unite in prayer for specific things that align with God’s Word.

They all were continually united in prayer ~ Acts 1:13-14

"Every word we utter in prayer, every idea and concept that we form as we pray, and every emotion that flows out of our heart is a reflection of what we believe about God and the gospel of Christ. The well-known formula 'As we believe, so we pray' underlies this very reality. Nothing uncovers the true state of our souls, both to ourselves and to others, as does prayer" ~ Al Mohler

LEARNING HOW TO UNITE IN PRAYER

LEARNING HOW TO UNITE IN PRAYER

Learning how to pray begins with recognizing prayer as a relationship rather than a performance. Scripture teaches believers to approach God with humility, dependence, and confidence in Christ, shaping both the content and posture of prayer.

As we engage with God’s Word and commune with him in prayer, our hearts begin to align with his heart. Over time, prayer moves from a discipline we practice to a posture of worship and trust.

BOOKS TO ENCOURAGE YOUR PRAYER LIFE

Perhaps it is one of the primary indications of our falleness that when we pray, we seldom feel the gravity and reality of what we are actually doing: talking to God himself.

Donald Whitney

Churches that talk about prayer hope God will do great things. Churches with prayer in their DNA expect God to do great things.

Chuck Lawless

Never presume that God will grant you apart from prayer what he has ordained to grant you only by means of prayer.

Sam Storms

We have an allergic reaction to dependency, but this is the state of the heart most necessary for a praying life. A needy heart is a praying heart. Dependency is the heartbeat of prayer.

Paul Miller

Though in its beginnings prayer is so simple that the feeblest child can pray, yet it is at the same time the highest and holiest work to which man can rise.

Andrew Murray

It is remarked that Joshua never grew weary in fighting, but Moses did grow weary in the praying; the more spiritual the exercise, the more difficult it is for the flesh and blood to stay in it.

Charles Spurgeon

A church’s commitment to prayer is one of the greatest determiners of its effectiveness in ministry

John Onwuchekwa

Prayer remains a central function in the life of the church because Jesus remains central to the church.

Pastor Jeremy

The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray.

Samuel Chadwick

Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks.

Phillips Brooks
